Mr. Kazuo Kurahashi, whose nickname is Kura-san, is one of expert Tenkara fishers and also a semi-professional wood-craft worker.
He was born in1967 in Okayama of western Japan. He met Tenkara fishing in Chubu area where he lived when he was 30 years old. Since that time Tenkara fishing has been his most favorite hobby for about 20 years.
On the other hand, he likes making things since he was a child and is starting to make wooden tenkara line holders.

The material of this hand-made tenkara line holder is Katsura.
In Japan, Katsura has been widely used for wooden furnitures and buddha statues since ancient times.
Kura-san believes it is Tenkara style to give value to such simple hand-made items made of familiar materials.

The size of the line holder is approximately 80mm diameter x 1.4mm width and weight is only 16g. There are hook keepers in the holder, so you can hold the tenkara line and tippet with a kebari(fly), and a kebari is not be damaged even if you keep the line holder in your pocket.
